The gift of salvation is the greatest gift you could ever receive.
The Bible tells us that we can know that we can go to Heaven.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13)
You don't have to doubt or hope that you can go to Heaven one day when you die. You can be 100% sure.
The Bible tells us that we all have sin. Sin is anything that goes against God’s Law, the Bible. That includes lying, stealing, gossiping, etc.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
We could read this verse again, but replace your name with the word "all."
"For — have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Because God is a holy God, he cannot be in the presence of sin. Our sin separates us from God, but God loved us so much, that he made a way for us to be with Him again.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
We could read this verse again, but replace your with the phrase “the world.”
“For God so loved — ...”
God loved you so much that He had His Son to die on a cross in your place. But Jesus didn't stay dead. He rose from the dead on the third day.
The Bible says that all we have to do to be saved (that is to be with God in Heaven after we pass away on earth) is to believe in our heart and confess with our mouth.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
It’s that simple. It’s not a prayer that grants you entrance into Heaven. It’s putting your faith and trust in Jesus that saves. If you want to make that decision, you can pray on your own, or you could pray a prayer similar to this:
“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I am in need of a Savior. I believe in my heart that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to save me from my sins. I put my faith and trust in You to take me to Heaven one day when I die. In the name of Jesus I pray Amen.”
